The Yiddish word sov stands for a letdown, roughly. A lemon is a sov. If the word had become as popular in English as tov, it would have been applied to Microsoft long since. If you'd be foolish enough to trust this map, there's no hope for you. Check it out and fill out Haugesund to Trondheim, Norway.

As you always run a remote chance of improvement, let's keep optimistic no matter how hard they make this, the site has been changed since. So I give their thenwhile route directions below. But first, especially for that rare American who really knows nothing about maps, a real map with two possible routes, one all the way via Oslo. The shortcut through the mountains would save you another 300 km (in red, from Fagerness to Otta, through the green N), but in reality it doesn't run so straight. The hole chewed out by insects is thrown in for lagniappe, to emphasize that even way back in the 1960s this route already was well known to intrepid explorers. Mark that's only 1109 km; the total distance for Microsoft's route really looks more like over 3000. Also the sheer idiocy of giving it with an accuracy of 100 meters.

MicroSov?
it's a major Macro sov!

This goes on for 118 separate directions.
They take you from Norway to (ferry) England, (Channel Tunnel) France, Belgium, Holland, Germany and (ferry) Denmark. From there, instructions suddenly get much less detailed and downright cryptic, as if the database itself got tired of this rubbish.
