| Somehow, some people feel it's "incorrect" to say America was discovered by the Europeans. After all, the Indians living there had discovered it long before. Too bad they didn't tell anybody else about it. Too bad they also did not know anything outside the region where they happened to live. For example, the potato, grown in Perú, was not even known in Mexico. The Europeans took it there. So, yes, the Europeans discovered America. Richard Dawkins thinks this is pure racism.
